HUL named Vipul Mathur as Executive Director of Personal Care

Hindustan Unilever (HUL) has named Vipul Mathur as Executive Director, Personal Care, effective June 1, 2024, marking a significant addition to its management committee.

Vipul, currently serving as Head of Growth and Transformation, joined HUL in 2003 as a management trainee following his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management – Calcutta. With over two decades of experience, he has excelled in customer development and marketing across various sectors including home care, personal care, and nutrition.

During his tenure, Vipul achieved notable success in the Laundry business from 2012 to 2017 and later from 2020 to 2021. He led mobile and rural marketing for Wheel and played a pivotal role in launching the award-winning mobile-based radio platform Kan Khajura Teshan (KKT), featuring branded content from ten Unilever brands. Additionally, as the category head, he drove portfolio transformation, enhanced the Liquids business, and ensured competitive and profitable growth.

Between 2017 and 2020, as part of the Global Tea leadership team, Vipul collaborated with teams globally, driving category innovation and delivering award-winning campaigns for Brooke Bond. In his most recent role as Vice President for Modern Trade and eCommerce, he strengthened omnichannel strategy and facilitated portfolio transformation for HUL in emerging channels, fostering customer relationships and internal cross-functional capabilities.

Rohit Jawa, CEO and Managing Director of HUL, welcomed Vipul to the management committee, praising his collaborative leadership style and strategic vision, expressing confidence that Vipul will effectively lead the Personal Care business to capitalize on growth opportunities.
