TBWA\Media Arts Lab elevates Jonathan George as Senior VP – Creative, India

Jonathan George, an accomplished creative professional, has been elevated to the role of Senior Vice President, Creative at TBWA\Media Arts Lab, Apple’s dedicated global creative agency, in India. This promotion comes into effect immediately. In his new position, George will collaborate closely with Michaela Futcher, the Head of Strategy and Managing Director for APAC at Media Arts Lab, while reporting directly to Brent Anderson, the agency’s Global Chief Creative Officer.

As the head of creative for Media Arts Lab in India, George will assume responsibility for overseeing the development and implementation of all creative endeavors in the region. His role will extend beyond creative execution, as he will actively contribute to aligning the region’s business objectives with strategic planning, ensuring a comprehensive approach to achieving success.

“Jonathan has proved himself an exceptional creative leader and partner to clients and team,” said Futcher. “He continues to level up expectations on work that can be made out of the region in craft and ideation. I am personally excited to have a partner in India of Jonathan’s calibre and terribly excited to think about what we’ll create next.”

George joined the agency in 2021 and has since been working closely with the Singapore and LA offices to strengthen and grow the team and the creative output in India.

“He is a driven, pragmatic, and passionate leader spearheading culture-rippling creative for India and across the APAC region. He holds high expectations for the work and leads his team remarkably to stretch and reach for that Apple standard,” said Anderson. “Jonathan has impeccable taste and instincts, and he translates that into the initiatives he leads. He has the ambition and ability to overcome any challenges to harness cultural impact and define what the Apple brand is and will be in the Indian market. I am excited to see what will emerge from his continued creative leadership.”

This year marked a milestone for the India office with “Fursat,” India’s first Shot on iPhone short film. Directed by veteran filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, the campaign garnered a record number of views and received global recognition winning bronze at The One Show in the Branded Entertainment category.

“Simple ideas, executed impeccably; Few have managed to make this mantra work as purely and powerfully as Media Arts Lab,” said George. “The result has consistently been culture-defining work that sets the bar for creative excellence. I couldn’t be more excited to partner with some of the most talented folks in the industry and carry this philosophy forward into the work that we do in India.”

Prior to Media Arts Lab, George returned to India to pursue his career in advertising after living and studying in San Francisco, CA. Since then, he has worked at agencies such as Wieden+Kennedy, Ogilvy, and BBH on brands like BMW, Budweiser, UNIQLO, Red Bull, and Royal Enfield.
