ByteDance has hired Swapna Nayak as Media Lead, APAC, Global Marketing. Prior to this, Nayak spent over nine years with IPG Mediabrands as Regional Managing Partner, APAC, as well as Regional Client Services Director, APAC.
Nayak was previously Regional Strategy Director at Havas Media and Director at Starcom before joining IPG Mediabrands.
During her time in India, Nayak had similar positions at Publicis India and Ogilvy India, where she was account director and client services director, respectively.
Nayak praised IPG for allowing her to be a part of the organisation in a previous LinkedIn post, noting that there were many individuals who were vital and inspirational throughout her tenure with the agency network.
In recent rejig ByteDance has appointed Liang Rubo to succeed founder Zhang Yiming as Chairman. Shou Zi Chew also relinquished his title as ByteDance CFO to focus on running TikTok full time as CEO.
