Leap.club, a Community Led Professonal Network for Women Raises $810,000

Leap Club

Ragini Das and Anand Sinha founded leap.club in early 2020 when they realised that there is a disparity in the representation of women in roles of power and leadership. To tackle this problem head on, they decided to create a community-led members-only networking platform for women as part of their goal to help women grow professionally.

leap.club enables its members to connect with new people and build a solid network through social and professional interactions. Since its inception, leap.club has facilitated its members with an expansive network of executive coaches, business partners and trusted professionals that lead to finding jobs, co-founders, investors and partners through the network. “Most professional platforms today are cluttered, spammy and do not add any value to our professional lives. Our vision is to redefine a professional and social network by building a curated platform exclusively for women that emphasises on quality engagement and high retention. Says co-founder Ragini Das

We are building a tech-first social professional and want to be the most relevant professional network for our members and have ambitious goals in terms of geographical expansion and hitting 100,000 members in the next couple of years.” says Anand

leap.club memberships are priced at either Rs 900 per month or Rs 5000 for the year and the platform follows a meticulous onboarding process. Starting with 30 founding members in 2020, 2,500 members a year later (from over 12 countries representing the top talent from companies such as Google, Amazon, and closer home, Zomato and Unilever).

They launched their mobile app on November 1, making the experience more seamless for members. The platform has enabled thousands of new connections, members are actively forming or joining micro communities, exec coaching sessions. Additionally, the platform organises moderated discussions with industry leaders, fireside conversations, and skill-sharpening workshops. They host 3-4 sessions every month —intimate, candid sessions, left of the usual webinars. Past speakers have included Mukesh Bansal, Ankur Warikoo, Mohit Bhatnagar, Abanti Sankaranarayanan.

Substantial diversity is seen across its member base that has young and experienced leaders across industries such as finance, social impact, law and FMCG. The network also has entrepreneurs, who currently account for a sizable 20% of the members. As the network scales, leap.club will also launch a jobs platform and focus on l&d. Early experiments with both verticals have been extremely successful.
