Bengaluru: Omnichannel meat and seafood brand Licious has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Saurabh Nerurkar as Vice President – Category.
Nerurkar announced his new role through a LinkedIn post, sharing his excitement about joining one of India’s leading direct-to-consumer food brands.
His appointment comes as Licious continues to expand its product portfolio, enhance customer experience, and strengthen its leadership position in India’s rapidly growing fresh food and online grocery market.
Brings More Than a Decade of Retail Leadership
Before joining Licious, Saurabh Nerurkar spent over 10 years at Flipkart, where he held several leadership positions across category management and business operations.
Most recently, he served as Senior Director – Home Improvement & Furniture, leading category strategy, business growth, merchandising, and customer experience initiatives for one of Flipkart’s largest retail segments.
During his tenure, he played a key role in driving category expansion and strengthening the company’s marketplace ecosystem.
Strong Consumer Goods and Sales Background
Prior to Flipkart, Nerurkar built his career at Unilever, where he held multiple leadership roles across customer marketing, sales, and business development.
He joined the FMCG giant through its prestigious Management Trainee Programme, gaining extensive experience in consumer insights, channel strategy, category development, and commercial operations.
Earlier in his career, he also completed internships at Edelweiss Capital and the Community Development Society, further broadening his exposure across finance and development sectors.
Strengthening Licious’ Growth Journey
As Vice President – Category, Nerurkar is expected to lead category strategy, portfolio expansion, merchandising, pricing, and customer-focused growth initiatives across Licious’ product portfolio.
His experience spanning e-commerce, consumer goods, and category management is expected to support the company’s efforts to drive innovation, improve customer engagement, and accelerate business growth.
