Deeptech startup Naxatra Labs has announced the appointment of Vijay Nair as Head – Human Resources and Administration, reinforcing its leadership team as the company prepares for its next phase of growth following a recent funding round.
The strategic appointment underscores Naxatra Labs’ commitment to building a strong people-first culture and scalable administrative framework to support its expanding operations in the electric mobility and industrial technology sectors.
A Veteran Professional with 30+ Years of Experience
Vijay Nair brings with him over three decades of experience across human resources, administration, and organizational governance. His expertise includes workforce planning, regulatory compliance, talent management, and structuring HR systems for fast-scaling organizations.
Before joining Naxatra Labs, Nair served as Head – HR & Administration at the International Centre of Entrepreneurship and Technology (iCreate), where he played a key role in driving HR strategy and institutional operations.
Strengthening the Team for Growth
Founded in 2021 by Abhilash Maurya, Arnav Biswas, and Piyush Verma, Naxatra Labs operates in the deeptech sector, focusing on the design and manufacturing of high-efficiency electric motors for electric vehicles (EVs) and industrial applications.
The company’s technology-driven approach is centered on developing indigenous motor technologies that enhance performance and energy efficiency, aligning with India’s push toward sustainable and self-reliant innovation in mobility.
The leadership expansion comes on the heels of Naxatra Labs’ recent $3 million pre-Series A funding round, led by Rainmatter, which is expected to fuel manufacturing scale-up and accelerate product development.
Building a Scalable Future
Nair’s appointment marks a crucial step in the startup’s evolution from an innovation-focused R&D setup to a growth-oriented enterprise. His leadership will be instrumental in shaping policies, nurturing talent, and aligning HR strategies with the company’s vision for expansion.
As Naxatra Labs scales its manufacturing capabilities and strengthens its operational backbone, the company aims to position itself as a key player in India’s emerging deeptech and EV ecosystem — combining advanced technology, skilled talent, and sustainable design.
