The long-term partnership comes at a defining moment in Sharma’s career. At the 2025 DP World Asia Cup, the left-handed opener delivered a record-breaking performance, scoring 314 runs in seven innings — the highest aggregate in any T20I tournament edition — and earning the Player of the Tournament title. His consistent dominance has propelled him to World No. 1 in the ICC Men’s T20I Batter Rankings, marking the highest rating ever achieved in the format.
