The Coca-Cola Company has announced the appointment of Tapaswee Chandele as its new Global Chief People Officer, effective May 1, 2026. She will succeed Lisa Chang, who is stepping down after serving in the role for seven years.
The leadership transition marks a strategic move as the company continues to strengthen its global talent and human resources strategy.
Tapaswee Chandele’s Leadership Journey
Tapaswee Chandele currently serves as Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff to President and CFO John Murphy, a role she has held since May 2025. Over the years, she has played a pivotal role in shaping Coca-Cola’s global HR and talent framework.
Between 2019 and 2025, she led global talent development and HR system partnerships, contributing significantly to the company’s workforce transformation initiatives. She was also a key member of Lisa Chang’s leadership team during this period.
Having joined Coca-Cola in 2001 in India, Tapaswee brings over two decades of experience in human resources and talent management, with international exposure across:
- Türkiye
- South Africa
- United States
She relocated to the U.S. in 2017 and has since taken on several global leadership responsibilities.
In addition to her corporate role, she serves on the board of Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages and is also a board member at Agnes Scott College in Georgia.

Tapaswee Chandele holds:
- An MBA in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management
- A Master of Science in Biochemistry and Clinical Nutrition from Seth G.S. Medical College and King Edward Memorial Hospital
- A Bachelor of Science from Sophia College for Women
In her new role, she will report directly to CEO Henrique Braun.
Lisa Chang to Transition into Advisory Role
Outgoing Chief People Officer Lisa Chang will remain associated with the company as a Senior Advisor until the end of 2026. She will also continue her involvement with The Coca-Cola Foundation.
Before joining Coca-Cola in 2019, Chang served as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at AMB Group LLC, overseeing HR operations across businesses including AMB Sports & Entertainment and the Atlanta Falcons.
Her career also includes senior leadership roles at Equifax, Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., and The Weather Channel Companies. Additionally, she has contributed to multiple boards, including the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Frontier Communications, Catalyst, Inc., and the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation.
