India is taking center stage at the 26th World Energy Congress, held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, from April 22nd to April 25th, 2024. The India Pavilion at the Congress serves as a focal point for exhibiting innovative technologies and sustainable power generation practices, highlighting India’s dedication to global environmental conservation efforts.
Under the leadership of various ministries including the Ministry of Power, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Ministry of Coal, and Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, several Central Public Sector Enterprises are actively participating in the India Pavilion. Their presence collectively underscores India’s prominent role in the ongoing global energy transition.
The Pavilion’s inauguration ceremony, held on April 22nd, 2024, was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Secretary of the Ministry of Power, Shri Pankaj Agarwal, and Ambassador of India to the Netherlands, Mrs. Reenat Sandhu. Additionally, the event saw the attendance of Shri Srikant Nagulapalli, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Power, alongside CMDs and senior officials from participating organizations such as NTPC, POWERGRID, PFC, REC, NHPC, SECI, IREDA, and ONGC, among others.
The India Pavilion welcomed distinguished guests, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Climate and Energy Policy of the Netherlands, H.E. Rob Jetten, and Secretary General and CEO of the World Energy Council, Dr. Angela Wilkinson, on April 22nd, 2024. Their visit demonstrated a keen interest in India’s energy transition efforts and appreciation for the progress made by member organizations towards sustainable energy practices.
