Genpact CHRO Piyush Mehta Assumes Dual Role as Country Manager for India

Piyush Mehta, Genpact forward-thinking Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), has recently assumed an additional role as the Country Manager for India. This strategic move aligns with Genpact’s ongoing focus on an AI-first strategy, driven by the burgeoning demand for advanced AI enterprise services in the Indian market.

Having played a pivotal role in shaping Genpact HR strategy for nearly 25 years, dating back to its inception within GE, Piyush has been instrumental in fostering a strong, purpose-driven culture within the organization. His tenure as CHRO, beginning in 2005, coincided with Genpact’s spinoff from GE and subsequent listing on the New York Stock Exchange in 2007.

BK Kalra, Genpact President and CEO, lauded Piyush’s track record in nurturing and expanding the company’s talent ecosystem. He emphasized the strategic importance of India as a talent market for Genpact, underscoring the pivotal role of people as the company’s greatest assets.

With a leadership approach centered on identifying core needs and harnessing technology to address them, Piyush is well-suited for his expanded role. His new responsibilities entail driving Genpact’s AI-first strategy in India while concurrently leading the global HR function.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the opportunity, Piyush emphasized the significance of India’s talent pool in driving economic growth. In a LinkedIn post, he reiterated his commitment to building upon Genpact legacy and contributing to the country’s economic development.

Genpact collaboration with Google Cloud to establish a generative AI practice underscores its commitment to meeting clients’ evolving needs. This initiative, spearheaded by Chief Strategy Officer Katie Stein, aims to leverage generative AI to enhance productivity, mitigate risks, and elevate both employee and customer experiences.
