Indian gaming platform Winzo is venturing into the Brazilian market and has already launched a teaser website in Portuguese, hinting at its upcoming arrival. This move signifies a significant shift for Winzo, which initially focused on vernacular gaming in India’s Tier 2 and Tier 3 markets, offering games in various Indian languages like Bhojpuri, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Punjabi, and more.
While India boasts one of the world’s largest gaming markets, few Indian gaming companies have achieved global success. In 2020, Ludo King emerged as a top casual game, capitalizing on the surge in popularity during the pandemic.
The Mobile Premier League (MPL), which recently expanded to Nigeria, has a presence on four continents. In 2022, MPL acquired Gameduell, a Berlin-based company with operations across Europe.
According to information available on Winzo’s website, their Brazil entry is likely to be facilitated through an entity based in Delaware, United States, which offers favorable tax incentives, attracting many US and global startups.
Winzoworld, the platform being introduced in Brazil, will initially feature a suite of 20 games on a platform called and will offer pay-to-play games, also known as real money games, using the Brazilian Real currency.
