coto named Avi Kumar as Chief Business Officer

Avi Kumar has been named as the Chief Business Officer of coto, the social community app designed specifically for women. Avi’s comprehensive consumer insights, brand mastery, and digital expertise will help coto’s business and marketing strategies move even faster. The narrative of turning the in-app content of Coto into distinctive consumer insights that will set the platform apart from its rivals will be the main emphasis of Avi’s new position. Tarun Katial, the founder and CEO of coto, will receive his reports.

With a career spanning over a decade, Avi has built a solid reputation as a marketer specializing in converting data to consumer insights and further to market strategy while delivering growth. He has been instrumental in building some of the largest brands across both the Media and FMCG categories.

Prior to coto, Avi was the Chief Marketing Officer at Join Ventures and led the global marketing for its portfolio companies –, Interflora India, IGP for Business, and Masqa. Before that, Avi was the Head of Marketing for ZEE5 and was responsible for the growth of the D2C and B2B businesses. He had also led marketing for BIG FM, before which he was associated with Oriflame.

Avi’s vast experience has earned him many laurels like Top 30 CMO (IAMAI), Top 40 CMO 2019, and Marketing Professional of the Year by ACEF, South Asia. He has also won several awards for campaigns at the New York Festivals, Emvies, DMAi, ET-brand excellence, IRF, and Golden Mikes.
