Healthtech startup Ayu Health raises $6.3M

Funding New 1

Bengaluru-based Ayu Health received $6.3 million in a Series A fundraising round from Singapore-based Vertex Ventures and Bengaluru-based Stellaris Venture Partners.

Serial entrepreneur and angel investor Ashish Gupta, Mamaearth co-founder Varun Alagh, and Rajat Goel, Founder of Gurugram-based EyeQ Super Speciality Eye Hospitals, also participated in the round.

The cash will be used to extend the healthtech startup’s hospital network, as well as to strengthen technology, procurement, and quality management. According to a press release from Ayu Health, the company plans to grow its bed capacity to over 5,000 beds across six locations by December 2022.

We have partnered with Himesh, Karan and Arjit previously when they were running Zefo, and have very high regard for their capabilities. Their plan to tech-enable the $100 billion private hospital market and create India’s largest branded hospital chain resonated deeply with us. With their technology-led approach, they can provide high-quality and affordable hospital care to the mass market of patients,” Ritesh Banglani, Partner at Stellaris Venture Partners, said in the release.
