Atul Mehta has been named Chief Operating Officer of Shiprocket, a technology-enabled logistics and fulfilment company (COO). Mehta will be responsible for sales, account management, supply chain operations, customer operations, and seller excellence functions in his new post as the head of Shiprocket’s logistics platform in India. In addition to these primary tasks, he will collaborate with the founding team to drive innovation and develop long-term strategy, according to the company.
Mehta has over 16 years of expertise in P&L management, brand ownership, category management, operations, product, sales, and marketing, having joined Shiprocket in July 2021. He joins Shiprocket following a four-year tenure at Amazon, where he served as the head of strategic partnerships and new business initiatives and was instrumental in expanding the Amazon Pantry programme from a single city to a pan-India project. Prior to this, he was a senior executive at the international consumer goods giant Unilever, where he was in charge of the Pepsodent toothpaste brand in India.
“My plans for Shiprocket include working closely with the founding team to further bolster existing operations and aggressively scale the new product offerings we are building. I look forward to a long-lasting stint and driving the company towards greater heights,” Mehta stated.
