Mumbai, India — December 27, 2025: The JSW Group, one of India’s leading conglomerates, has announced key leadership changes aimed at strengthening its human resources and talent development function. The Group has appointed Sandeep Batra as President and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) – Steel & Corporate, and elevated Shilpi Lal Sharma as Group Head – Talent, Learning & Development (L&D), and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI).

These appointments reinforce JSW’s commitment to building a future-ready workforce, enhancing organizational effectiveness, and driving leadership excellence across its diversified business portfolio.

Sandeep Batra to Lead HR Transformation Across JSW Steel and Corporate Functions

In his new role, Sandeep Batra will oversee the people and culture agenda for JSW Steel and the Group’s corporate functions. His mandate includes driving organizational effectiveness, leadership depth, and talent strategy, while shaping a high-performance culture that aligns with JSW’s growth ambitions.

With over 30 years of cross-industry experience, Batra brings a wealth of expertise in talent management, organizational design, and productivity transformation across sectors including IT, telecom, consumer, retail, infrastructure, aviation, and defence.

Before joining JSW Group, he served as Chief People Officer at Adani Airport Holdings and held senior leadership roles at Landmark Group and Vodafone India. A former Commissioned Officer in the Indian Army, Batra is known for his leadership acumen and focus on people-driven business transformation.

Shilpi Lal Sharma to Drive Group-Wide Talent, Learning, and Inclusion Initiatives

Reporting to Sandeep Batra, Shilpi Lal Sharma will spearhead JSW Group’s initiatives in learning architecture, leadership development, succession planning, organizational development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Her role will be pivotal in building capability pipelines, developing high-potential leaders, and embedding inclusive practices across all JSW businesses.

Sharma brings over 20 years of experience in talent management and organizational learning, including more than 15 years in senior leadership roles. Before joining JSW Group, she led Talent, Learning, and Organisation Development at Welspun Group. Her previous tenures include leadership roles at the National Stock Exchange of India, UltraTech Cement, and Edelweiss Asset Management.
