Synchrony named Rachana Bahadur as Senior Vice President and Country Head for India. With an illustrious career spanning over three decades in the financial services and banking sector, Rachana brings a wealth of experience and leadership to her new role at Synchrony. She has held prominent positions at renowned financial institutions including Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, and Morgan Stanley. Rachana’s expertise encompasses various areas such as product and risk management, controllership, operations functions, and overseeing large-scale technology renovations. Over the past 18 years, she has served in senior global leadership roles across diverse geographies in the US, Asia, and Europe. Prior to joining Synchrony, Rachana served as Managing Director at Goldman Sachs, where she co-led pan-India operations and headed the India Asset and Wealth Management Division.
In her new role at Synchrony, Rachana will lead and manage all operations in India. She is tasked with developing and executing a strategic plan to revamp Synchrony India by focusing on process excellence, driving transformation initiatives, and fostering a collaborative culture. Her appointment underscores Synchrony’s dedication to excellence and innovation in global financial services.
Rachana is a staunch advocate for inclusion and diversity, values that align closely with Synchrony’s mission to cultivate a supportive and diverse workplace. She holds a BBA from Baruch College, New York, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
