Info Edge (India) Limited has announced the appointment of Sanjiv Sachar as an additional (non-executive independent) director. The appointment will be effective from July 15, 2023, pending the necessary approval from the members.
Sanjiv Sachar, aged 65, is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and had previously served as the senior partner of Egon Zehnder until his retirement in 2016. He currently holds board memberships at HDFC Bank Limited and KDDL Limited, and is the designated partner of Sachar & Sachar LLP.
Furthermore, Sachar is a partner at the Delhi chapter of Social Venture Partners, a global philanthropic network, and serves as the chief mentor of Huddle, an incubator based in Gurgaon.
Commenting on the appointment, Kapil Kapoor, chairman of the board said, “I am happy to welcome Sanjiv Sachar as independent director to the Info Edge Board. Sachar began his corporate journey in the finance department of SRF Nippondenso (now Denso). After becoming a Chartered Accountant in 1982, he joined the management consulting division of AF Ferguson (now Deloitte). In 1995, he established the Egon Zehnder practice in India. During his two decades at Egon Zehnder, Sachar provided guidance to senior executives across various industries.
Furthermore, Sachar co-founded a firm called M/s Sachar Vasudeva & Associates, which specialized in Chartered Accountancy and Management Consulting. He also played a role in establishing an executive search firm called Direct Impact.
