JioHotstar Marks Independence Day with Free Access via ‘Operation Tiranga’

In honour of India’s 79th Independence Day, JioHotstar has unveiled Operation Tiranga, a platform-wide initiative celebrating the nation’s spirit of freedom. Under the theme “Tiranga Ek, Kahaniyaan Anek”, the campaign presents a thoughtfully curated line-up of powerful narratives, each reflecting the identities, emotions, and ideals represented by the Indian Tricolour.

As part of Operation Tiranga, JioHotstar will offer free access to its entire content library for 24 hours on August 15, 2025, reinforcing its commitment to inclusivity and accessibility for viewers across India.

A Visual and Sonic Salute to the Nation

Beyond free streaming, the platform is transforming its interface into a visual tribute to India’s Independence. A special splash screen inspired by the national flag will greet viewers, setting the tone for a collection of stories celebrating courage, sacrifice, and cultural pride.

Drawing from the symbolism of the Saffron, White, and Green stripes of the flag:

  • Saffron is reflected in tales of courage and covert heroism such as Take Off, Madras Cafe, and IB71.

  • White represents sacrifice and resilience with titles like Salakaar, Neerja, Mangal Pandey: The Rising, and Chandrashekar.

  • Green highlights cultural legacy and pride through stories such as Sarzameen, Kesari 2, and Airlift.

All these titles, along with more original and globally acclaimed content, will be available free to stream on Independence Day.

Celebrating Freedom Through Storytelling
