Tata Steel has appointed Zubin Palia as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) – India Manufacturing, effective July 2025. Based out of Jamshedpur, Pallia will lead the Human Resources and Industrial Relations (IR) function for the steel giant’s expansive manufacturing operations across India.
In a recent LinkedIn post, Pallia shared the update, saying, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as CHRO – India Manufacturing at Tata Steel!”
Key Responsibilities in New Role
In his elevated position, Pallia will be responsible for:

Driving HR strategy and workforce excellence across major manufacturing hubs including Jamshedpur, Kalinganagar, and Meramandali

Leading HR operations in engineering projects, finance units, commercial functions, and profit centers

Strengthening industrial relations and ensuring seamless coordination with employee unions

Overseeing the Center of Excellence (CoE) for contract workforce management across multiple locations
