Honeywell introduces software for enhanced manufacturing operations

Honeywell has unveiled its latest innovation, the Honeywell Batch Historian, a software solution aimed at digitalizing manufacturing processes. This offering is designed to furnish manufacturers with a comprehensive data history, facilitating enhanced reporting and analytics capabilities. By leveraging contextualized data, the solution promises to streamline operations, resulting in increased efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

One of the common challenges faced by manufacturers is the complexity involved in analyzing data, particularly in the absence of batch visualization tools. Honeywell Batch Historian addresses this issue by enabling manufacturers to directly capture data with context from batch engines, without the need for intricate configurations. This is made possible through a user-friendly interface featuring drag-and-drop tile configuration, eliminating the requirement for advanced programming skills or extensive historian database knowledge.

Shawn Opatka, Vice President and General Manager of Life Sciences at Honeywell Process Solutions, emphasized the significance of Honeywell’s digital manufacturing technologies in driving improvements across various aspects including product quality, regulatory compliance, and overall efficiency. He highlighted the modular and flexible nature of their approach, allowing companies to embark on their digitalization journey at their own pace, adopting new technologies as needed.

Honeywell Batch Historian caters to a range of industries such as specialty chemicals, life sciences, food & beverage, pulp & paper, and mining, materials, and metals (MMM). By utilizing this software, manufacturers can optimize process efficiency and streamline troubleshooting efforts, leading to improved operational outcomes. Additionally, the solution simplifies batch reporting configuration, easing the burden of compliance with industry regulations.

This software empowers manufacturers to efficiently capture, analyze, and leverage manufacturing data, enabling informed decision-making, process optimization, and continuous facility improvement. It is available as a standalone application or as a module on the Manufacturing Excellence Platform (MXP), and can also be integrated seamlessly into the Experion Batch system.
