New Delhi, India — December 27, 2025: Hindustan National Glass & Industries Limited (HNGIL), India’s largest container glass manufacturer, has announced the appointment of Rakesh Mehta as Chief Operating Officer (COO), North, effective immediately.
This strategic leadership move comes shortly after HNGIL’s acquisition by Independent Sugar Corporation Limited (INSCO), part of the Uganda-based Madhvani Group, completed in September 2025. The appointment marks a significant step in HNGIL’s post-acquisition roadmap to enhance operational excellence, strengthen supply chain efficiency, and drive growth across northern India.
As COO, North, Rakesh Mehta will be responsible for overseeing HNG’s manufacturing and distribution facilities across key northern locations. His focus areas will include production optimization, supply chain transformation, and business expansion for clients in the pharmaceutical, liquor, beverages, and food industries.
With over two decades of experience in finance, commercial operations, and regional leadership, Rakesh brings a proven track record of driving growth in competitive markets. Prior to this, he served as Finance Head – North at Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. since 2013 and previously held senior roles at Reliance Retail, where he managed large-scale distribution, logistics, and operational functions across Gurugram and the northern region.
