PUMA India has announced the appointment of Ramprasad Sridharan as its new Managing Director, effective December 2025. His elevation marks a significant leadership transition following the exit of former MD Karthik Balagopalan, and signals PUMA’s intent to strengthen its strategic direction in one of its fastest-growing global markets.
Sridharan brings over 20 years of experience across leading fashion, footwear and lifestyle brands in India and the Asia-Pacific region. Before joining PUMA, he served as CEO & MD of United Colors of Benetton India, where he led key brand revival initiatives, expanded the omnichannel ecosystem, and successfully improved overall profitability. His earlier leadership roles at Clarks and Reebok India further cement his expertise in retail operations, consumer strategy and business transformation.
In his new role, Sridharan will report to PUMA’s global commercial leadership and focus on scaling the brand’s footprint in India. His priorities include strengthening digital retail capabilities, enhancing performance-driven culture, and deepening consumer engagement to ensure long-term brand relevance.
The appointment underscores PUMA’s commitment to accelerating growth in India’s booming sportswear and athleisure market—fuelled by rising fitness adoption, expanding retail networks and evolving lifestyle preferences.
