Moglix, one of Asia’s leading B2B e-commerce and supply chain technology companies, has announced the inauguration of its greenfield bitumen processing plant under DRG Industries, the company’s dedicated manufacturing arm. Located in Kosi Kalan, Mathura, the facility is scheduled to begin commercial production in July 2025. This strategic move marks Moglix’s entry into the bitumen manufacturing sector, further reinforcing its commitment to enabling India’s infrastructure transformation with future-ready, sustainable materials.
Supporting the Vision of Viksit Bharat
India’s development blueprint, Viksit Bharat, places a strong emphasis on building robust, safe, and sustainable infrastructure. With the world’s second-largest road network, the country now faces the dual challenge of enhancing road quality while minimizing environmental impact. Moglix’s bitumen facility is a direct response to this need, offering innovative and eco-efficient solutions for road construction and maintenance.
“Our roads are the veins of Viksit Bharat. Building them stronger and smarter requires materials that are not only durable but sustainable. DRG Industries is our commitment to building roads that last longer, perform better, and serve more—with responsibility at the core.”
— Rahul Garg, Founder & CEO, Moglix
High-Performance Bitumen Products for Smarter Roads
Through DRG Industries, Moglix will manufacture a new class of value-added bitumen products, including:
-
Polymer-Modified Bitumen (PMB)
-
Microsurfacing-grade emulsions
-
Hard binders
These advanced materials are designed to improve road longevity, minimize maintenance cycles, and reduce the overall carbon footprint of road infrastructure.
Microsurfacing, one of the facility’s flagship products, is globally recognized for its effectiveness in sealing surface cracks, enhancing road friction, and extending pavement life. Compared to conventional resurfacing methods, microsurfacing can double pavement lifespan while cutting emissions by up to 44%.
Sustainability and Innovation at the Core
Spread across 3.5 acres, the facility integrates:
-
Denimotech mills for precision processing
-
Fully automated production lines
-
In-house R&D center for localized innovation
The plant will have a monthly processing capacity of over 28,000 MT, positioning Moglix as a key player in India’s bitumen ecosystem. It uses biomass-fueled, carbon-neutral high-efficiency boilers fitted with scrubber systems and filter bags—demonstrating the company’s strong commitment to ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) goals.
Strategic Location for Regional and Cross-Border Impact
Situated to serve northern and central India, the plant will support large-scale infrastructure projects across:
-
Uttar Pradesh, NCR, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir,
-
And export markets such as Nepal
By addressing local terrain, climate, and traffic variations, Moglix’s R&D-driven product development will cater to diverse infrastructure needs with high precision.
Enabling Jobs and Strengthening SME Networks
As a greenfield investment, the DRG Industries facility will also generate local employment and contribute to the regional economy by building partnerships with SMEs, contractors, and logistics vendors. This aligns with Moglix’s broader vision to develop scalable, future-ready manufacturing ecosystems across India.
