HSBC named India-origin Pam Kaur as Group CFO

HSBC Holdings plc has announced the appointment of Pam Kaur as Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO) and an Executive Director of the Board, effective from 1 January 2025.

Pam Kaur, who is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion, joined HSBC in April 2013 as Group Head of Audit. She currently holds the position of Group Chief Risk and Compliance Officer (GCRCO). With almost 40 years of experience, she has held senior roles in financial services across the UK and the US, working for British, American, and German banks.

A qualified chartered accountant, Pam was born in India and holds an MBA in finance and a BCom (Hons) from Punjab University. Her expertise spans treasury, capital, balance sheet, and risk management.

Pam has been part of HSBC’s Group Executive Committee for over a decade, bringing valuable insights into the global and local challenges and opportunities within the banking sector, particularly at HSBC.

Sir Mark Tucker, HSBC Group Chairman, remarked, “I would like to congratulate Pam on her appointment as GCFO. She is highly respected and well-known to the Board and was the unanimous choice. I wish Pam every success in her new role and thank Jon for his excellent support as interim GCFO.”
