The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has recommended Challa Sreenivasulu Setty for the position of Chairman of the State Bank of India (SBI).
On June 29, the FSIB interviewed three candidates for the Chairman position at SBI.
“Keeping in view their performance in the interface, their overall experience and the extant parameters, the Bureau recommends Challa Sreenivasulu Setty for the position of Chairman in SBI,” reads a press release issued by the FSIB.
Setty, currently the Managing Director heading the bank’s Global Markets & Technology wing, joined the Board of SBI as Managing Director in January 2020. He began his career with State Bank of India in 1988 as a Probationary Officer.
Setty will succeed Dinesh Kumar Khara as the Chairman of SBI.
