Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor took charge as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of Training Command (TC) on May 1, 2024.
Commissioned into the Fighter stream of the Indian Air Force on December 6, 1986, Air Marshal N. Kapoor is a distinguished alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Defence Services Staff College, and National Defence College. With over 3400 hours of flying experience, he is a Qualified Flying Instructor and a Fighter Combat Leader.
Throughout his career, Air Marshal Kapoor has held a plethora of field and staff appointments, showcasing his operational prowess and strategic acumen. Notable among his operational roles include serving as the Commanding Officer of a fighter squadron in the Central Sector, Station Commander of a flying base in the Western Sector, and Air Officer Commanding of a premier air base. Additionally, he has contributed significantly to instructional roles as Chief Instructor (Flying) at the Air Force Academy and as Directing Staff at the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington.
Air Marshal Kapoor played a crucial role in the induction and operationalization of PC-7 MK II aircraft in the Indian Air Force during his tenure at the Air Force Academy. He also served as Defence Attaché in Pakistan, representing India’s interests with distinction.
His commendable service has been recognized with the prestigious Vayu Sena Medal in 2008 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2022.
Before assuming his current role, Air Marshal Kapoor served as the Air Officer-in-Charge Personnel at Air HQ, further solidifying his reputation as a distinguished leader in the Indian Air Force.
