IAS Geetika Sharma appointed Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Mines

IAS officer Geetika Sharma has been appointed as the Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, following her recommendation for central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Sharma, belonging to the 2012 batch of the AGMUT cadre, has been selected for this role under the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) for a four-year term, as per an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). The order stipulates that Sharma will serve from the day of assuming office or until further orders are issued.

In light of her new assignment, the DoPT has requested the immediate release of Sharma from her current duties so that she can assume her responsibilities in the Ministry of Mines. Prior to this appointment, Sharma has held the position of Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Mines and has also served as the Deputy Commissioner for the North East District, with additional responsibilities as the General Manager of the Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC).
