Byju’s named Majid Yazdani as VP, Byju’s Lab

Byju’s, an edtech firm, announced today the appointment of Majid Yazdani as Vice President at Byju’s Lab to propel and shape the future of education. Majid will be responsible for incubating new ideas and delivering breakthrough solutions throughout BYJU’S ecosystem of learning products at BYJU’S Lab, where he will be working on customisation and other AI applications for the education industry. Majid, who will be based in the United Kingdom, will assemble a team of research experts to collaborate on novel and powerful learning experiences for kids.

Yazdani previously worked as a staff scientist at Linkedin and at the Swiss Idiap Research Institute. In 2018, he joined Facebook AI (Meta AI) to build neural networks with segregated knowledge and reasoning.

He has contributed significantly to FB’s customer support using large-scale generative language models. He also holds three patents and has 24 research papers in the fields of natural language processing and artificial intelligence.

He has over 15 years of experience in technology and AI, having graduated from Sharif University of Technology in 2008 with a BSc. in Computer Engineering. He earned his Ph.D. from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in June 2013.
