Nissan Joseph has been named Chief Executive Officer of footwear retailer Metro Brands Limited (Company) as of July 1, 2021. Farah Malik Bhanji, Managing Director, and Rafique A Malik, Chairman, will continue to lead the company, which was founded in 1977.
Joseph, who graduated from the University of Western Sydney with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, comes to the company from MAP Active & Planet Sports Inc., a lifestyle retailer in Southeast Asia, where he served as CEO since March 2020. During his 18-year career in retail and brand management, he spent five years in significant roles at Crocs, which Metro Brands Ltd manages. stores in India. He has also worked with firms including Payless Shoes Pty Ltd and Hickory Brands, Inc.
Metro Brands Ltd has a pan- india network of 586 stores in over 130 locations as of March 31, 2021, with brands such Metro Shoes, Mochi, Walkway, and Crocs.
